Things I Love - Sunday!

I’m totally crediting the lovely and fashionable J for the idea to do this post. It’s a lazy, snowy, Sunday and let’s face it. I love to talk about things I…well…love!

The first, which I’ve blogged about in the past, is The Body Shop’s Hemp Hand protector. It smells great, and it literally softened my hands within hours. Walking on campus my hands tend to get pretty dry, so this week my hand protector has been a great companion. The hemp seed oil in the lotion helps to moisturize hands and keep skin’s moisture barrier in tact. If you’re like me and you wash your hands a lot, or forget to wear gloves and mittens sometimes, then invest in this!

Has anyone tried this stuff before? My friend Kathleen introduced it to me, and it makes me lips feel amazing. I especially loved the packaging since it’s a pearlescent purple, and purple is one of my favorite colors. The scent is light and reminds me of kool-aid, and it tastes dandy too. My lips feel silky smooth, and there are real silk extracts in the lip treatment as well. All too often we see cosmetics claiming to make you feel silky, but this actually does the trick. Another companion for this week’s frosty weather, and drying heat inside!

Random and strange, but DRAKE AND JOSH, haha. Since when did Josh get all skinny and hot? Although I think he was much funnier a little chunkier, he looks like a weird Cris Angel (according to Keith.) Who doesn’t love their crazy antics anyway? The Christmas special was hilarious and I’m not ashamed to admit that! Christmas movies in general are something I’m loving this week. Watching parts of “A Christmas Story” with Keith’s parents, and then watching “Home Alone” with my Dad tonight, holiday movies always make me smile. Add in some mini holiday Reese’s cups and you’re in business. I haven’t had Reese’s in forever!

Last but not least, Starbuck’s Peppermint Mocha Latte with Skim Milk, and this year they have a twist! Chocolate truffle shavings and peppermint whipped cream come on top this year. Although it’s a pretty expensive (calorie wise) way to indulge, it really makes me feel like Christmas is right around the corner, even though I have been spotted ordering it come summer time. Kathleen and I love having these treats every Friday when we do our usual girls days, and with the double shot of espresso they certainly pack a punch that keeps you going during your Christmas shopping.

I like lots of things this week, ha. It’s been a fun, busy week, and I’m prepping for finals and in less than two weeks I’m on a well deserved month-long vacation. Plans? I’m looking forward to hitting the gym every day since I won’t have to wake up to go to school twice a week, and possibly getting my next tattoo. I have a gift certificate to my parlor, but I want to save up some Christmas money first, and possibly invest in a new digital camera. Who knows?

  1. I love that Starbucks drink, too! Though I’m so jealous that you can have the whipped cream! I want to try it so badly! Lol.

    I’ll have to try that hand cream. I’ve always heard that hemp hand creams work wonders.

  2. Actually, I got Things I Love from Gala Darling, and I also saw Jennifer Stoddart do this also, and she had a Starbucks drink as well! A couple other people have been posting these lately too. =) Gala does her posts on a Thursday but Sundays are such slow blog days, it’d be cool if more people did these every or every other Sun!

  4. I might have to check out that hand cream. And as for the Blistex, I don’t use that kind, but I do use Blistex and it works great. It’s my most preferred lip moisturizer.

    I watched Home Alone on TV last night too. I was going to watch Elf also but Amazing Race was on and I couldn’t miss that.

  5. Anything with hemp in it does AMAZING things for your skin. That’s why there are so many tanning lotions out there with it in them. And Blistex fo’ lyfe, yo! I’ve loved their stuff ever since they came out with the tinted lip balm back in the day. It’s cheap (I lose more lipbalm than I can even afford) and it doesn’t make my lips all greasy.

    And lol about Drake and Josh. I was watching TV with a friend one time and when she told me that the skinny guy on the TV was Josh, I gasped and couldn’t get over it for about half an hour. Haha

    I’ve go to Starbucks at least every week and I’ve never tried that one. I love their Thanksgiving blend.

  10. Blistex makes the tastiest chapsticks. I’m still partial to Carmex myself, but Blistex is a close second.

    I must be a weirdo or something, because the only Starbucks drink I really like is the blended lemonade. I’m not a huge fan of hot drinks in general, but I’d opt for a Tim Hortons hot chocolate over anything else.

  11. My sister really loves Drake and Josh. I remember watching Drake on the Amanda Show and Josh on All That. But I do love those cheesey kid shows with the lame jokes.

    They closed all the starbucks down in my city this year :(
