First of all, I would like to thank everyone who entered my Sally Hansen giveaway! Jenn from Jenn.nu is the official winner! Go on over to her blog and give her some props. If you didn’t win this time, try next month. I hope to plan another giveaway!
Right now, on the East Coast, we’re looking forward to lows of -2 degrees tonight which means I’m bundling up during the day, too. The walk to my classroom at work isn’t long, but with single digit temperatures and wind chills pushing the coldness to the max, I’m all about being toasty. You’d think I’d have moved to somewhere warmer by now, but there’s something about being near three major metropolises that I can’t quite give up. Until Keith and I decide to move to the Caribbean and/or acquire a bank account full of treasure like in Harry Potter (whatever happens first is fine with me), it’s all about overcoming and adapting. Here’s what I’m loving this winter:
That’s me up there with my favorite coffee cup. Coffee is the number one thing that I’m loving this winter because the cold weather makes me sluggish. I just want to hide under a blanket like my cat and wait until spring arrives and the grass turns green. I typically picture the coming of spring like Fantasia’s animated accompaniment to Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony. You can check that out here, just ignore the Italian introduction and enjoy the pretty images.
My next winter life saver is the North Face Osito Jacket. You want warm? Worth the money? NON-BULKY? This is it. It’s super thick so it keeps the wind out and the laces on the bottom allow me to tighten it further. I’ve had this coat for almost two years and it still looks, feels, and washes like it just came out of the store. I’m an advocate of spending money on winter wear if it’s classic and quality made. This is THE winter coat that I’m loving, two years in a row!
Last, but not least, I’m loving mittens more than gloves this year. I’m not sure if it’s because I snagged some great mittens with “Hi” and “Bye” knitted into them, but it’s nice to say hi to people without having to talk.
What are you loving this winter? If you live in the Southern Hemisphere and are enjoying summer, I don’t want to know. =P
