    Read the Printed Word!

she works hard for the money!

So, I got a phonecall back from Thyme and Season which is a natural food/health store I applied to. On Saturday I called her back (called out of Panera to do so, haha), hoping that she would tell me just to come in, but she didn’t. She told me Wednesday at 2:00 and I said I’ll see you there. I go and tell my Mom because I was so excited and she says to me, “Chris!! Tuesday you go for jury duty!! What if they keep you?!”

OH SHIT!!!

I freak out.  My Mom tells me to calm down and call her back ASAP to let her know, and that she’d appreciate me being honest and not letting her know at the last minute. I call back and I get disconnected, wtf! I call back again and I get through and I told her about jury duty. I must have been talking a mile a minute. She was so calm and laid back sounding though. So she says to call her Wednesday morning after 11 and let her know what the deal is, if I can be there for the interview or if I ended up getting picked.

I felt like such an ass. Keith and my parents both told me if they didn’t want me to come in because of something like that they wouldn’t have told me to call and let them know. I feel better now but at the time I wanted to cry. I was so embarassed.

Now it’s off for some Italian lunch, and my Dad to show me where I park as a potential juror. Jury duty is ruining my week, lol.

That’s how it always feels with jobs, super stressful because it really is a competition to get the spot. You get used to it tho.

I’ve been summoned for Jury Duty like twice and skipped it both times. No consequences yet. :/

Never been summoned yet. (Knock on Wood) I seen the Veronica Mars episode about it though, doesn’t look like much fun! They can’t really penilize you when jury duty is government mandated, it’s not like you signed up for it! lol. Just claim to know the defendent! haha
