We all have those burning questions we want to ask guys, so I took the liberty of interviewing a panel of awesome dudes that I know will give me the straight answers. A lot of them surprised me, and as ladies we can only wish that EVERY guy in the world thought the same way these awesome dudes think. I present to you, the first ever CURLS.NU interview with real guys who rock.
I asked all of my guys (Keith was included), what’s the first thing they notice about a woman and eyes were mentioned across the board. Lou, 25, mentioned, “If she has a good set of eyes I’m good to start.” Nick, 34, also said, “I notice if she’s looking up or at the floor. Confidence let’s me know how I’m gonna approach her, but not my judgment of her.” Keith, 22, who needs no introduction also mentioned the big “C” word. “It’s all about how she holds herself, don’t try too hard to be sexy, just be confident.” He also mentioned that he prefers brains to just beauty alone and said, “You can lose your beauty by opening your mouth!.” Some of Keith’s deal breakers are “one-upping” and pretending not to poop. He says, “EVERYONE DOES IT! Just let it out…LITERALLY!!”
When it came to the favorite part of a woman’s body Nick and Ranil, 22, both agreed on the chest. Nick said, “It doesn’t matter how big, I’m just a fan of boobs,” where Ranil said, “That’s tricky because I think of the female body as the most beautiful thing in the world. I saw a pregnant lady the other day and she was sexy as hell!” (Yes, Ranil is single!). And on personality Lou said, “Be cool, calm, and relaxed! I can’t deal with uptight people, especially uptight ladies, just go with the flow.”
And since this sometimes turns into a fashion blog, I asked the guys how they would dress a woman if they had a chance. Lou said, “Other than nothing? I’m cool with jeans and a t-shirt. Tightness is up to them, but jerseys are a plus,” whereas Ranil and Nick both agreed that the sundress is key. Nick said, “it’s how a sundress hugs a woman’s body, it’s casual sexy like those 40s pinup girls” and Ranil agreed, “It lets you see a little something and gets me thinking about what I’m not seeing.” Keith on the other hand decided he would dress me in a tight band tee, baggy pants, sneakers and a bandana. He said, “Punkie hippies are HOT!” Are you hinting something to me, Keith?
Last but not least, the ongoing question of weight. As I sat here munching on my Special K Bar and worrying about losing my last 10 pounds Ranil stated, “Ladies need to stop being insecure about their weight! I can deal with the occasional nagging but don’t go crazy about it!” I think we can all take a lesson from that one.
MEET THE PANEL: Lou is a single guy who loves watching movies and TV. Nick has been married for 9 years and loves his kids, bowling, comics and movies. Ranil is a single guy who likes driving, video games, music, art, working out, and fishing. And last but not least Keith has been with me for almost 6 years and loves art, music, and making me feel like a princess (because I pretty much am, haha).

Ha ha I love this!
I have some guy friends I can easily ask these question (plus x-rated questions as well, but that’s for a different blog post! Haha)
I like their answers. I’m personally not a sundress-wearing gal… but being in the industry I am, I have fallen to and love wearing baggy jeans and fitted (vintage) band t-shirts and my Vans (minus the bandana), so… your Mr. Keith rocks!
Guys are so open, and will talk about more of this stuff than girls usually do. Girls say what people want to hear, guys are blunt and that’s refreshing and of course, interesting!!

This was a really awesome read, Christine! It’s good to know what guys actually find appealing in women, and whenever I read stuff like this I’m often surprised by their answers. And the best thing, like Cookie (poster above/below me) said, is that guys are pretty honest about that sort of stuff, so you know what they’re saying is usually true. Thanks for the awesome post!

You know something? You women kind of make me mad. See when a guy dates a girl it is because of who she is. I mean a guy marries a woman based on who she is. I’ve read things from women saying if you want a successful marriage, then if you are 130 pounds when you get married then you should maintain the weight, I wouldn’t take it that far, but I would say don’t start changing drastically. Sex should stay however regular it was in the beginning, dates should stay as regular, and romance should stay as regular.
Of course the same should be said for guys, but women tend to want to change the man to their dream man and be who they think they can be. I say love someone for who they are, not who they were, but if you want that then you have to both try to be the people that you fell in love with, not the people who you want the other to become.

This was a great post to read, Christine! Whenever I read stuff like this I’m not usually surprised by their answers, because confidence is one of the biggest things for a lot of people.

That was an interesting interview. I think what it told me is that most guys have different opinions on everything. But they want a girl who is going to be herself. But it seems that being yourself only works if you are a confident outgoing person in the first place. I don’t know, I’m sure everyone has their own method of attracting other people. What works for one person will be different for someone else.

LOL, I love this post! Sadly, I’m one of those chicks who pretends not to poop.
I did read this article in a magazine that was all about girls dressing up really for each other and the whole “jeans, t shirt, sundress” thing came up. Guys are really easy to please. It’s other girls who are the most critical.

Hahaha awesome post. I love the way you wrote it. And the funny thing is I just wrote about how much I hate it when people or fart and how I almost never fart (which kind of goes with pretending not to poop)!
What is it with sundresses? The good thing is, I love wearing them because they’re comfortable and breezy but it’s just funny how I never think of them as particularly eye-catching or attractive.

yea christine popped up outta no where wit these questions, but i wus happy ta answer em. deanna the thing about confidence is yea everyone likes to have a confident person to be them selves and its difficult for everyone to be themselves now adays kuz of some ole bullshit. i dunno where u from but round here people are just shady as fuck so i dont knock when people arent as confident as they should b . lucky for me i got the mind set where i dun give a fuck and yet ims till shy round new heads. thass kuz me bein myself isnt really accepted by society for the most part but i still intermingle with it u just gotta know where ta stand ur ground and always man up for the things u say do and for wut u believe is correct. felisa u suck if u didnt poop or fart the toxins in ur shit n gas would get into ur blood stream n ud die so fuck u , but about the sundresses its kuz they hug ur body ever so gently n the fact they soo flowy in them breezes. sean aint no one wus talkin bout relationships u needa chill im pretty sure she wus just gettin info on wut dudes be thinkin bout gurls in general not relationships. i could be wrong though much love
