I honestly cannot believe it’s September already. It certainly doesn’t feel like it as temperatures hit almost in the 100s today on the East Coast. Hurricane Earl is coming to visit us tomorrow, and I have to wake up at 4am to go into work at 5am for my opening shift. At least I get out before noon, right? In a way I’m kind of hoping for a good storm to clear out the hot, humid weather we’ve been experiencing. I love laying out in the pool, and will be sad to see the cover on it next weekend, but part of me is also ready for fall. I want to wear my fall scarves and my cardigans!

September is actually a month of celebrations. My Dad’s birthday is on the 4th, and my parents celebrate their 30th anniversary on the 13th. Then later in the month I’m going to Tucker Max’s book signing in NYC with Keith and Kelly. I’m so excited to meet him and take a photo with him. If you haven’t yet read “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell” you should stop reading, drive to your bookstore or library, and get it NOW!
With the fall weather on the way (hopefully soon!), I’m starting to think about all of the fun fall activities that I want to do. I’ve made a short list and hope to add more to it at some point. Last Fall Keith was out of work, and I wasn’t working many hours so we had to cut out some of our usual fun activities that we do together. But, now that I’m working more and he’s working fulltime, we’ll be able to do some more this season (if we don’t fall asleep first, haha!) While working a lot has been making me want to do nothing but sleep, and sometimes gets me a little sad (I really want to be teaching!), thinking about all of the fun things I’ll be doing make me happy and lift my spirits.
The Fall Fun List
Apple picking
Making my awesome apple pie
Haunted hayride
Haunted houses/graveyards at Lake Compounce
Drinking cider
Picking out a pumpkin with my Dad
Dressing up for Halloween
Fun sized Junior Mints (yay for trick or treaters)
The smell of leaves and fireplaces
How the moon looks in the fall
These are just a few of the reasons why Fall is one of my favorite seasons. This year I also want to try to go to some of the local fairs and get some yummy fair food. Funnel cake anyone?

Im not much of a fan with fall and deff. not a fan of winter. I love summer followed by spring! But after reading all of the things that go on during fall it got me thinking. I may just like fall afterall. The haunted houses, hay rides, halloween and the leaves.

I’ve heard about the hurricane hopefully it isn’t bad, those kind of situations freak me out. I’m from Arkansas so we had tornadoes pretty much every year and it’s scary. It’s one of those situations where you think it will never hit you, but tons of people are hurt all the time from natural disasters, it freaks me out. Although, with that said my dad and I would sit outside and watch the sky together when we’d be under tornado watches and what not because it’s always so yellow and weird outside during those times. Thankfully, I’ve never experienced a tornado though, not touching the ground anyway I’ve seen it form in the sky.
I love fall, but winter is my favorite season. I know it’s super cold and hard to function in the super cold weather, but something about winter puts me in a good mood. I feel so safe and good during winter. I also love dressing for winter and wearing layers upon layers and wearing scarves, also good hair days although here in Vancouver the weather is almost always nice excluding the days it rains so bad hair days aren’t really a problem unless I don’t feel like doing anything with my hair, I don’t have to worry about the weather destroying it besides rain. In Arkansas, humidity would kill it instantly.
Your fall list seems really fun though. Trevor and I always go ghost hunting when we’re back home. It’s so much fun and going apple picking seems like such a cute little thing to do. I’ve never done that. You should make a pumpkin pie from scratch! Pumpkin pie is my favorite pie, I’ve made a pumpkin pie a few times, but I’ve never made one from scratch. I’d be interested in learning how to do that properly, I usually just buy the pumpkin in the can and add the spices and mix everything and what not and prepare it that way.
Hope you have a lovely Fall. :]

You look so cute, but you also look like you’ve lost some more weight. Gorgeous as always
Fall is the BEST time of the year. I love forward to it always.
So how was Hurricane Earl for ya’ll? It was a joke here. They boarded everything up, but it was just a few hours of rain then lo and behold the sun came out haha.

I’m getting really excited about autumn/fall! We didn’t have much of a summer this year and I’m so ready to get my cosy winter clothes out. Yay to scarves and cardigans!

It’s been a little cooler lately where I live (a half hour outside of Philadelphia) but I think on Tuesday or Wednesday it’s going to be SUPER hot again. I wish it would be a bit cooler, especially because my sports practices and games are KILLER in the heat. =\

I’m so sad that the hot weather is gone. I was enjoying the 30 degree weather. How did Earl treat you? I just wrote a blog entry about my experience with it. It wasn’t too bad once it got to my part of the world. I was also supposed to work but my manager called me the night before and told me there was no point in me coming to work so I got to stay home.
Your fall fun list sounds awesome. I wish I could go apple picking. I only have done that once on a school trip and it was probably one of my favorite trips ever.
