Miss Spa Mask Review & Giveaway

miss spa review

A while ago I posted about some of my favorite masks. I’m a mask junkie. I love trying out new skincare masks for all types of purposes. But, the one type of mask I’ve never tried was a sheet mask. They look awesome, but I always thought that they would be messy or uncomfortable. So, when I found out about Miss Spa Masks (you can get these online or at Ulta and Target!), I knew I had to try them out. They have two types of mask lines, and I will be focusing on the Results in 20 Minutes series. I was able to try Detox, Hydrate, and Exfoliate. The great thing about these sheet masks is that they are convenient, cruelty free, and the company us woman owned (yas). Even more? The Miss Spa Results in 20 Minutes series are under $5.00. Yes, my friends, another budget and bunny friendly product!

Here I am rocking my detox mask! It felt cool and soft and smelled nice. I looked a little funky, but afterwards my face felt amazing. All of the detoxing botanicals are right in the sheet. Before using skin should be clean and dry. After the 20 minutes is up, I used a soft tissue to pat the botanicals into my skin that were left from the mask and air dried the rest of the way. It felt amazing! My skin was glowing and soft. My only gripe? The nose portion is a little tiny. But if you’re not a large honked Italian like myself, you should probably be fine. Furthermore, the masks are free of artificial dyes, sulfates, and parabens.

Interested in trying out these pre-treated sheet masks? I’m giving away to ONE lucky winner, a set of both the Hydrating and Exfoliating Masks. So, take some time for yourself and feel rejuvenated after just 20 minutes. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Cool Cruelty Free Kid Must-Haves

cruelty free kid

I’ve already started working on my baby registry despite the fact that I’m not having a shower before baby arrives. If people want to give a gift, I’m open to it (and extremely grateful), but I’m looking toward having a Christening/Meet the Baby party afterwards! Obviously, we’re having a cruelty free kid. I want to make sure I’m using safe, nontoxic, and animal friendly products on my baby and usually those three requirements come together in one package. Moms like Sunny and Janine have shown me that living a safe, and chemical free lifestyle can be very doable even with another person to “manage.” Through Vegan Cuts and other cruelty free boxes, I’ve gotten some great previews of cruelty free kid items. Here are my favorites that I’ll be sharing with our Little One come December.

Of course, I’m thinking about onesies, diapers, and all of the equipment I’ll need, but I’ve been thinking of some fun items too! Cruelty free kid items are not hard to find, and with a little research you can raise your very own nontoxic crunchy granola muncher. Knowing, personally, that I’ll be using safe products on my little one gives me peace of mine. Here are some of the non-essentials I wouldn’t mind if someone got me (in triplicate, haha).

First up? The Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb (say that three times fast, I’ll wait). I’ve been a longtime lover of all things Lush, and their baby products are no exception. Our nephew loved this bath bomb and I loved the gentle lavender EO which is perfect for winding down at the end of the day…for Momma, Daddy, and Baby (and probably the dog, too).

Original Sprout is a brand I came to know through the Vegan Cuts Beauty box (and loved that there were cruelty free kid options in it, too!) Moms I’ve spoken to said that multi-tasking products are amazing. OS offers this Hair and Body Babywash that takes care of it all. After doing some research, it seems like bath-time is so important…not just for cleanliness but for bonding! Rosemary, Basil, and Aloe smooth skin while soothing. I used this myself during a very hot, trying summer for my skin and it cured any woes I had. And, the gentle scent is not overpowering!

Earth Mama Angel Baby is a brand I’ve been researching on my own more so for post-partum products. However, when I stumbled upon their bottom balm I knew I had to make sure to put it on my list. When I was a kid we used A+D or Desitin. But, I wasn’t wild about the oils and ingredients (not then…now, haha). I also like that I can use this EO blend on bug bites, diaper rash, or even scratches and minor cuts.

The next two must-haves aren’t really for my future cruelty free kid, but for me. The Uncommon Goods Cotton Teether Crate is just cute as all hell. And, the Edible Veggie Finger Paints by Wee Can Too are right up my husband’s alley for fun Daddy and Baby art time.

Crunchy mommas, what else should I be putting on my cruelty free kid list?

Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color Review

Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color

Flipflop’s are my jam! Honestly, I’d probably just go barefoot if I could. Maybe I’m just a foot lover, or maybe I just like a good pedicure and an excuse to show off my piglets. Either way, my current summer obsession is Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color in amazing beach ready shades.

Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color

The newest shades come in Stardust Memories, Superfox, and Midnight Rambler. Normally, I’m not one to try blues and brights, but these looked like so much fun. Plus Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color means that toxic chemicals found in regular nail polish are eliminated. Now that I’m pregnant, I’m trying to go easy on the “extra” chemicals in my life. So, if I can find a good polish that doesn’t have all of those nasty toxins, I’m down!

This polish went on super smooth. The brush is a little wider so allow for easier coverage. The polish also dries quickly and without any annoying bubbles or dents. Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color comes in some amazing colors that range from sultry to earthy. Not to mention, all of Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color options are 100% vegan and cruelty free.

My final go-to for a nail color is how long it lasts on my nails, especially my hands! Pedicures last for decades, but normally my nails look like a hot mess after three or four days. Ever have a toxin free, animal friendly polish last over a week? Now you will! For only $9.00 a bottle, Pacifica Beauty 7-Free Nail Color is budget friendly too. Which color would you like to try?

Pacifica Super Kale Haircare

By now you guys know that I’m a Pacifica and Ulta fan to the max! So, when I found out about Pacifica Super Kale Shampoo and Conditioner, I knew I had to dish. I’m a Kale girl all the way. I love putting it raw in salads, smoothies, and sautéing it up in recipes. So when I saw that it could be used to keep my hair shiny and happy? YAS! Shower time! Pacifica Super Kale also comes with one of my FAVORITE new products, Hairvana which is a leave-in detangler and conditioner. With my thick curly hair, I need something to keep my locks under wraps for the day. Ready? Kale on!

The Pacifica Super Kale Shampoo  claims:

Pacifica’s Super Kale Juiced-Up Shampoo gives your hair a boost of volume and a deep purifying clean. Nourishing kale and super fruits come together in this innovative formula designed to help protect your hair from damage and pollution. Everyday pollutants can ruin your hair’s color, health and style (and then there goes your day). Say goodbye to bad hair days forever and hello to super healthy looking hair!

When I used this shampoo, the lather was amazing and the scent was fresh, light, and clean. I loved how my hair felt truly detoxed after using it. I used this shampoo every third day to avoid drying out my curls and I had great results. Light, no-weight volume and a fresh shiny look. Pacifica Super Kale Shampoo also helped detangle as I washed, which is not something you find often in a shampoo. I loved how my hair felt throughout the shower and afterwards. With its Kale and fruit blend, this is amazing for after a tough workout!

I followed up with the Pacifica Super Kale Conditioner which offers similar claims to the shampoo. I loved the conditioner, but found I needed to add some extra and let it sit for a few minutes and finger comb. This is not something that I blame the product for, but just something that most curly girls have to do on the daily. Like the shampoo, the conditioner was light and effective. But the real stunner for me was Hairvana! Product crush time!

Pacifica Hairvana Leave-On Detangling Conditioner is like heaven for your hair. This innovative detangling cream helps support flexibility, strent, balance and a healthy shine. It aids in calming flyaways and frizz without buildup. And best of all, it makes combing a breeze. Great for damaged hair, long hair, curly hair or any one in need of a little extra love.

Hairvana is hands down my favorite product in the Pacifica Hair line! I used about a dime-dized dollop of Hairvana and combed gently and then simply styled as usual. My ringlets were shiny and defined. Not to mention frizz free! I also like that this product is one of the few curly haired products that does not REEK of coconut. Kudos Pacifica! It’s fresh and clean and doesn’t mess with my other products.

Pacifica has grown so much as a company since I started using their candles (whoa!) years ago! What will they come up with next?  Keep calm and Kale on, Pacifica!

Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara Review

Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara

I’ve only got eyes for…oh…ah-hem, excuse me! I didn’t know you were there; I must have been lost in the realm of my Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara magical love fest. Cruelty free and natural mascaras can be hard to come by. When I switched to cruelty free makeup and cosmetics, I looked for months for one that I really loved. Some were thick and clumpy, some were itchy (wtf?), and some didn’t give me the DRAMA I wanted! It wasn’t until my blog-crush Sunny posted about her faves that I decided to give Pacifica a try! I had a great time using their Stellar Gaze and was completely blown away by their newest creation, the Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara ($15.99).

This mascara is great because it’s made with all natural plant fibers and contains peptides which help to naturally improve lash growth. Double win! The gentle, kind ingredients condition lashes (I had no crumbles throughout the day), and easily washed off with a gentle cleanser.

What’s awesome about this mascara is the amazing brush and the magic wand feature. (And the unicorn on the packaging, let’s be honest. When you apply the first layer of Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara, you’ll use the long brush. Let it dry, twist your magic wand, and use the shorter brush to build volume. This is truly a custom experience. I used my mascara with my regular palettes and eyeshadows and my lashes looked amazing!

Can we just talk about the lash lines that are visible in my cat selfie? ON SNAPCHAT? My lashes have never been that prominent, and in this photo I have no top liner. A selfie filter that doesn’t cause my lash drama to cease? I’m down!

Overall, I love this mascara and this brand! I’m also stoked that this brand is featured in Target’s Made to Matter collection. Let’s keep spreading the cruelty free message! Beauty, not bunnies (and lashes for days).
