another storm

So, here’s a few site updates just to start off. My Sublime fanlisting got approved by TheFanlistings.org, so if you’re a fan of Sublime I’d love for you to join!! I already have one member (Keith), haha.

Also, here is my site profile on yoursite.nu. I’ve seen the link on Britney’s website and finally joined. I already have one review and it’s exciting. I like reading reviews, and giving them is fun to do too.

We’re in the middle of another snow/ice/wind storm right now, and to make matters worse my Dad’s car died in front of the house. The only good thing is that we really don’t have to use that car, but with the plow coming by cars are supposed to be in the driveway. The towing place is going to take 4 hours to get to my house since the weather is so horrible. There’s also “a back end of the storm coming in, but the form of it is unknown.” That sounds like a movie, haha. Oh, weather channel, you’re so silly!

Tonight, if the weather permits, which I doubt, I’m making Pirogies with Keith and his family. Since they’re Polish and Czech, their Christmas Eve dinner is a lot different from what I’m used to. I’ve been going there for Christmas Eve for 4 years now and I love it.
My family does fish for Christmas Eve because we’re Italian, so it was quite a change.

Keith’s family have three types of Pirogies (cheese/potato, cottage cheese/sugar, prune). I don’t do the prune ones, haha. Then we have Sauerkraut soup which is interesting, and finally my favorite! BABIKAS. These little babies are dough balls, fried, and then topped with Walnut and Sugar. MMMM. The other kinds have Sauerkraut but I’m a baby and I don’t eat those. And of course, everything for my family and Keith’s is homemade. So it’s all amazing.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to go there tonight and make the food. I help every year so hopefully if tonight doesn’t work because of the storm, we can do it later in the week. Snow ruins plans.

Anyways, sucks about the weather!! That sounds horrible. I know that we get hurricanes and stuff, but yall can actually STAY and get through those storms!! Really scary!!

We got freezing rain here last night. It started while Wesley and I were at the mall so he had to drive in it. It was slippery out. While walking to the car, I almost slipped a couple times. I am so sick of this Winter weather. I want spring/summer already! Still have months to go though. :(

I had never heard of Pirogies before, just googled it – they look yummy! The cheese pototo one sounds nice, the prune one sounds a bit dodgy though haha.
All that food sounds amazing, have fun eating it :P
Hope that the snow doesn’t ruin all of your plans though!

I live with Donny so I would absolutely LOVE being snowed in. All of that food sounds so good. I LOVE Sauerkraut!

Donny and I are probably gonna do our own Christmas so I have no idea what we’re gonna eat!

mmm, pierogies. I am Polish :D but yes, prune ones sound disgusting!! I only like ones with various combos of cheese, potatoes, and onions. (ok, and sauerkraut is disgusting..) My ex-boyfriend was Italian and they did the fishes Christmas Eve, too. The cookies they made all were almond-flavored, yours sound better :)

I hope the snow didn’t ruin your night :/

I hope the snow didn’t ruin your night! The pirogies sound interesting, though I do not fully grasp what they are yet, lol. Have fun, and try to send some snow storms my way.

I’m glad you like reading reviews! I can if it’s something that I really enjoy but for me at this time, not too much of that… I’m into my books right now ^_^
    Oooh… Perogies sounds yummy for now… mmm…

I think that I’d eat the cheese/potato pirogies. Some people hate other cultures but yeah… They’re close minded. It’s nice when you can enjoy other cultures and be a part of their celebrations / activities.

Those Babikas sound like a variation of Malasadas that we Portuguese make. Yummy!

Hopefully the weather clears up a little at your side…
