About Me

Approximately in September of 1986 my parents got a little   frisky. Now that I think about it, it was probably around their   wedding anniversary. We all know what happens when   parents get frisky. Nine months later, on May 2, 1987, I was  brought into the world, a miracle baby and only child:   Christine Marie.

I am currently working towards my Master of Arts in English to  complement my Bachelor of Science in English and  Secondary Education. I’m certified to teach grades 7-12 in the  state of Connecticut, but despite my certifications you can usually find me teaching college freshman, working as a tutor in the Campus Writing Center, and freelance writing for local businesses. I am the “nerd” who always looked forward to the first day of school and I plan to continue my education until I have earned my Doctorate in English studies. The ultimate goal for me is to become a professor, or a published Young Adult author–I’m fine with whatever comes first.

Being an only child, I hold my family very close to me. I have more than enough cousins (I am Italian and Greek after all), to make up for my lack in the sibling department and am extremely close with my parents. On January 6, 2012, I had to say goodbye to my cat and sister of 15 years, Socks. While I will always love her, and miss her terribly, she was very sick and we had no choice but to think of what was best for her. She will always be my sister, my confidante, and one of my very best friends. When I’m not doing the family thing, I enjoy writing, working out, shopping for various things (usually makeup and books), baking, and drinking coffee. I also enjoy parentheses (couldn’t you tell?) I’ve also been known to organize things that are already organized, throw out clutter, and neurotically cross out tasks in my planner that I’ve finished. Along with my current blog, you can check out my health and fitness blog over on tumblr. I have a list making problem, but as I always say, “People who make lists get to have more letters at the end of their name.” I really do say that. Ask Keith.

My rock, my relaxer, and my sanity keeper is my boyfriend. Keith and I originally hated each other in high school: He thought I was a snob and I thought he was loud and vile, but upon finding some common interests and actually GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER, we’ve found that our partnership works well. Remember, just because our relationship started out as one full of hatred and annoyance, doesn’t mean that you should try it at home. Keith is truly my best friend and my love. I keep him organized and up to date, and he keeps me from having a mental breakdown when something doesn’t go my way. (Remember that only child thing…well…yeah…) Together we have overcome difficult times and have built amazing memories that will last a lifetime. Look in a coffee shop, redneck bar, or a bookstore and that’s where you’ll find us. We also enjoy watching horror movies, discussing the zombie apocalypse, and going to fancy restaurants wearing jeans.

If you’ve made it this far you win….A LEXUS. I’m kidding, I don’t have that kind of money. I can, however, provide you with amazing beauty product and book reviews, sonnet explanations, and sarcasm. Enjoy it!
