exams and whatnot

Yesterday and today were days off since I only have exams tomorrow and Thursday. One of my exams is simply a final paper and I’m stressing over paper topics right now. It can be anything we want LGBT related, it’s also only 4 pages. I was originally going to write a feminist viewing of FTM sexual reassignment surgery, but that would be way more than the limit, and I’d need to do some serious research. I’m going to write a paper on that if it kills me at some point.

So, I’m stuck for paper topics right now and I’m writing it today. As soon as I shower, haha.

Luckily the weather held out and I was able to make food with Keith’s family. And yesterday I finished my shopping and wrapped everyone’s gifts. I’m not the best at wrapping presents but this year I wanted to do something more than simple gift bags. I always feel impersonal when I don’t wrap things. So, for gift cards I put them in tiny gift bags, and wrapped everything else. I’m really excited with how they came out.

Although for me money is tight due to my lack of working I managed to buy everyone a thoughtful present(s). I really hope everyone likes their gifts. I’m especially excited for Keith to open his. I want to see his reaction.

As of now I’m waiting anxiously for the mailman to get here because my Praxis scores are available today (or so the website says). I’m nervous to open them, but excited to see how I did. I have a feeling I’ll be taking the Math portion again. I’m trying to be optimistic though.

I joined Disaster MB. I don’t know if anyone who comments here is on it, but I wanted to join it for a while and I figured what better time than now. My username is Christine.Marie because Christine was taken. All of my other board names are Christine. I’m boring.

Time to shower and sit and write this paper. Wish me luck! And if you’re stuck in finals week like I am, good luck on your exams and final papers.

So, here’s a few site updates just to start off. My Sublime fanlisting got approved by TheFanlistings.org, so if you’re a fan of Sublime I’d love for you to join!! I already have one member (Keith), haha.

Also, here is my site profile on yoursite.nu. I’ve seen the link on Britney’s website and finally joined. I already have one review and it’s exciting. I like reading reviews, and giving them is fun to do too.

We’re in the middle of another snow/ice/wind storm right now, and to make matters worse my Dad’s car died in front of the house. The only good thing is that we really don’t have to use that car, but with the plow coming by cars are supposed to be in the driveway. The towing place is going to take 4 hours to get to my house since the weather is so horrible. There’s also “a back end of the storm coming in, but the form of it is unknown.” That sounds like a movie, haha. Oh, weather channel, you’re so silly!

Tonight, if the weather permits, which I doubt, I’m making Pirogies with Keith and his family. Since they’re Polish and Czech, their Christmas Eve dinner is a lot different from what I’m used to. I’ve been going there for Christmas Eve for 4 years now and I love it.
My family does fish for Christmas Eve because we’re Italian, so it was quite a change.

Keith’s family have three types of Pirogies (cheese/potato, cottage cheese/sugar, prune). I don’t do the prune ones, haha. Then we have Sauerkraut soup which is interesting, and finally my favorite! BABIKAS. These little babies are dough balls, fried, and then topped with Walnut and Sugar. MMMM. The other kinds have Sauerkraut but I’m a baby and I don’t eat those. And of course, everything for my family and Keith’s is homemade. So it’s all amazing.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to go there tonight and make the food. I help every year so hopefully if tonight doesn’t work because of the storm, we can do it later in the week. Snow ruins plans.

First of all thank you all so much for the amazing comments regarding my allergy and my weight loss. You all mean so much to me and I want you to know that. People who don’t have a blog and online friends don’t understand how important and fun it has to have those relationships with people and I just want to let you know how much I appreciated all of your comments. I feel so stupid sometimes worrying about my allergy but you all helped me realize it’s fine to do that. I love you guys so much!!

On to fun stuff! We’re gearing up for a winter storm here in CT, and we just got out of classes. My professor doesn’t know the difference between 10am and 10pm so he let us out at 10am, and now the university is closed due to the storm. I’m enjoying some home made hot chocolate. And I even put some Sugar Free Whip on top and it’s amazing right now. Even though I’m a tea head, I love hot chocolate when it’s snowing out.

I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping. I have to buy something for Keith, and his brother and sister in law which we’re going to do together. Then everyone is all done. Money has been tight due to my not working as much and my Mom helped me out with gifts for my Aunt’s/Uncle’s and Grandma which I appreciate so much.

Has anyone been following the series of shootings that have been happening? The first one was the mall shooting, then another one in Colorado where a man shot people of the church, and yet another in Vegas of two young men opening fire on students leaving a school bus. The latter is suspected to be gang related. Sometimes I think people start to get a little sketchy around the winter and the holidays. It’s so sad to pick up my newspaper and see all of these horrible things. I keep reading though. I guess it’s better to be informed than not be informed at all.

Time to enjoy my hot chocolate and my day off. Thanks again everyone, and hope everyone’s enjoying the snow (or no snow).

Yes, my dears, only two more weeks until this devil of a semester is over and I can relax for a month. Amazing. I am looking forward to this. I finally uploaded the Christmas decorating pictures on my flickr, so go check out our Christmas tree. It might be simple, but I still love it! There’s also a picture of my kitty on there, Socks. She’s quite the photogenic little thing.

Last night, was interesting. Keith and I went out to dinner together, and ended up hanging out with my friend Kelly, and his friend Paul. He blew fire with 151. I was trying to link it from myspace, but for some reason it doesn’t want to work for me, so if you want to see the video go to Keith’s myspace, and just click on videos. You can hear me saying “whoa” in the background.

I ended up feeling kind of bad last night. Keith’s parents had me try this new wine they bought and it was so good. So I looked at the bottle to see what it was and it had ginger in it. So, I asked if it was okay that I drank some. His Mom and Dad were really nice about it and said I’d be fine since it was just a taste, but I just feel that Keith downplays the fact that I have a food allergy, and I make it my business not to eat anything that would upset me. I hate being so careful about it, and I was fine because it was just a taste but it still worried me. I’m sorry if it’s something that gets aggravating, but oh well. I know he’s trying to tell me that nothing will happen from a little bit, but I’d still prefer not to have it in my system at ALL. He just does it the wrong way sometimes I guess. Ok, I’m done for now. I feel better, but I felt that I needed to get that out. =[

Oh, and I hit 48 pounds loss. I’m 7 pounds away from my goal of 130. Yay!

I’ve always found it fun to look at old pictures on my computer. Although a lot of them were lost in the transition from my old domain to this one, I have one that I’ll always hold close. I’m amazed at how fake I looked in high school. For more amusement, I’ve posted two pictures together for the ultimate comparison. So now the rest is up to you. Which do you choose? I personally choose #2. I have this photo on my myspace and the claim has been made that I do have makeup on in #2 but I don’t. I’m have natural dark circles. (which can be a good or a bad thing I guess.)
